The Arizona Сñֱapp of Commerce & Industry and the Arizona Manufacturers Council (AMC) have announced the return of “The Hottest Thing Made in Arizona,” a competition that highlights the state’s manufacturing community and showcases the best products made in Arizona.
With more than 630,000 workers and an annual economic contribution exceeding $77 billion, Arizona’s manufacturing sector is among the fastest-growing in the country. This contest is designed to celebrate that success, inviting nominations from the public for products made in the state.
Nominations are now open to all. Participants can submit as many products as they like, provided the products are manufactured in Arizona, though the companies’ headquarters do not need to be based in the state.
Nominations must be submitted through the official contest website, and details about each product, including the manufacturer’s name and the nominator’s contact information, are required.
After the nomination period closes, the public will have the chance to vote for their favorite products. The top three products with the most votes will advance to the final round, where the vote counts will reset. The winner will be announced at a special reception held during the AMC’s 2024 Manufacturing Workforce Summit in October.
The competition was first held last year, with the Boeing AH-64 Apache Helicopter taking home the inaugural title. Organizers are hoping for an even bigger response this year, as the contest continues to shine a spotlight on the creativity, innovation, and pride that define Arizona’s manufacturing sector.
“To be recognized as the inaugural winner of this competition was a proud moment for Boeing, especially given the strong manufacturing talent across our state,” said Mark Gaspers, Director of Government Operations for Boeing. “This contest is an excellent opportunity to shine a light on the innovation and ingenuity happening right here in Arizona. I’m excited to see it continue to grow, and I hope everyone will take part by nominating and voting for the products that showcase Arizona’s leadership in manufacturing.”
